The Best of May 2018 in Video Games

You look back, analyze in detail the number of video games that have been released in the month of May, and it is impossible not to be amazed!

There has been variety, quantity and above all, a lot of quality thanks to the launch of such outstanding titles as Detroit of PS4, State of Decay 2 of PC and Xbox One, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze of Nintendo Switch, or the role adventure Pillars of Eternity 2 on PC.

And these are just a few of the many titles that have appeared during the month of May, in which we have also enjoyed the remastering of Dark Souls, or proposals as interesting as Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux for Nintendo 3DS, orMoonlighter from the Spanish studio Digital Sun.

As if all this was not enough, a few days before the beginning of E3 2018, there have been major announcements such as the presentation, at last, of the new episodes of Battlefield and Call of Duty, as well as Rage 2 or Fallout 76 by part of Bethesda Softworks, or the promising Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu!

/ Eevee! , which undoubtedly have warmed up the environment in the face of the imminent start of the most important video game fair in the world. Do you know a little? For having, there has even been a leak that has revealed Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Platforms: Switch By: Retro Studios

Rating (9.0) No matter which console appears, DKC: Tropical Freeze remains one of the brightest platforms of recent years.

On the occasion of his arrival at Nintendo Switch, we have no great news. A new mode, indicated for less skilled users, as well as slight improvements in visual and performance issues. However, it is a real must for those who have not yet played, due to its incredible playable balance, challenge, and variety of situations.

A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia

Platforms: PC By Creative Assembly

Rating (7.5) The spin-offs of the Total War series seem like a good idea to build on, but if they want to live up to what the saga has achieved they also have plenty of space to improve.

I have no problem with a game that condense the enormous dimensions and ambitions of the series, Shogun 2 did it fantastically well in 2011, but here I miss some of the things that added depth and fun to the franchise. I perceive A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia as a Creative Assembly attempt to bring its strategy in real time to other audiences and, although that is always good news, I expected a much better result from it.

Dragon's Crown Pro

Platform: PS4 By Vanillaware

Rating (8.5) Unlike Odin Sphere with his Leifthrasir and Muramasa with his Rebirth, we did not find so many differences in Dragon's Crown Pro with respect to the original work, beyond an increase in resolution to 4K, his orchestrated soundtrack and the new translation of your texts into our language.

For those who did not enjoy it, its essence of beat'em up with touches of RPG continues to stay fresh like the first day, promising a good experience for a game and a very deep one for those wanting to pass and review the game with all their characters and difficulty levels.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

Platforms: PC By Obsidian

Rating (9.5) Obsidian has done it again. With the support of fans, the creators of Fallout: New Vegas come back to surprise with an extraordinary RPG that recovers the best essence of role classics like Baldur's Gate 2.

Exciting in its action, with a spectacular combat system and wonderful setting in the scene, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire immerses you in an epic pirate adventure that will take time to forget thanks to its powerful narrative. Once again, and there are a few!

Obsidian signs a memorable work that is destined to become one of the great video games of 2018.

Laser League

Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne By roll7

Rating (8.0) Laser League is a great quick and fun proposal that, although it is not relegated exclusively to the multiplayer, it is much more enjoyed in company.

Frenzied games, with a clear sports halo and focused on skill, reflexes and the mantra of “easy to play, difficult to master”.

Forgotten Anne

Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne By Throughline Games

Rating (8.5) It is likely that Forgotten Anne does not receive the commercial response she deserves.

Not in vain is a game that is cooked slowly and whose challenge is rather scarce. However, if we go into their world we discover a fascinating story full of memorable characters and decisions that matter. An exciting start to a studio like Throughline Games and, probably, the best game to date of the Square Enix Collective label.

Conan Exiles

Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne By Funcom

Rating (8.0) Funcom has managed to create a great adventure of survival that takes advantage of the fantastic and bloody literary universe of Conan the Barbaro.

Alone, but better accompanied by friends, the video game surprised by the epic of his action and the scale of some of his pitched battles. Whether or not you are fond of the genre, you will surely find a lot of fun in a Conan Exiles that guarantees a game for a while.

Horizon Chase Turbo

Platforms: PC, PS4 By Aquiris

Rating (8.0) Horizon Chase Turbo is just what it wants to be: a tribute to the driving arcades of the 90's recreational saloons. It is achieved based on simple but perfect controls, a well-studied difficulty curve, and a very powerful duration if we consider the type of game we are talking about.

There is a lot of repetition in the medium term, and he could have dared to raise more things, but as the heir of a golden age in the arcade genre, he will make you spend a few afternoons of sweet nostalgia by pressing the accelerator … and your teeth.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Platforms: Switch By Omega Force

Rating (7.5) Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is a port with hardly any news, and therefore should only consider those who did not play on Wii and 3DS.

Even in that case, they must consider that it is a musou, and as such, it is a repetitive game. But if you can ignore it, you are facing an interesting machacabotones, faithful to the Zelda license and very durable, which can be even more if you play in a local cooperative for two players, a very interesting option for the owners of Nintendo Switch.

State of Decay 2

Platforms: XOne, PC By Undead Labs

Rating (8.0) Although it is a very continuous sequel, alternatif rajawaliqq maybe even too much, there is a lot of fun to get out of State of Decay 2. If we manage to overlook its asperities, which are not few, we have a game of very genuine survival and ability to offer many hours of entertainment and maximum tension and immersion. To get an award in a future State of Decay 3?

To polish more the set, to give something of more depth to the combat and to obtain a cooperative that begins to materialize the potential that here limits itself to aim. Along the way, we will enjoy, and much, your proposal.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux

Platforms: 3DS By Atlus

Rating (8.0) Strange Journey Redux is a very good dungeon crawler, challenging and with fun, direct and abundant combats, perfect for your portable factor.

Add an interesting story and multiple ways that dazzled much of their community, and now new additions are added perfect to increase the number of hours of play and give an excuse to those who played it at the time. A perfect JRPG for the most hardcore players at Atlus and the Shin Megami Tensei brand.

Detroit: Become Human

Platforms: PS4 By Quantic Dream

Rating (9.0) Detroit: Become Human is still a 100% Quantic Dream game, so it has all the mannerisms and tics of a David Cage work and will not dissuade those who accuse their releases of lack of interaction. However, it is difficult to find something as powerful in its genre as what it has achieved this time.

The PS4 video game is formally fascinating and has a staging worthy of a movie, but I do not think that neglects at all an argument full of hard decisions to make, and that approaches difficult issues with seriousness and good work. In my opinion, the best game so far by the creators of Heavy Rain.

Ancestors Legacy

Platforms: PC By Destructive Creations

Rating (8.0) The authors of the controversial Hatred stand victorious with their commitment to the strategy in real time, giving life to a fun video game, exciting in its action, which raises interesting tactical options.

In front of Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Germans or Slavs, in Ancestors: Legacy we will enjoy spectacular strategic battles in which, the most important thing is to get the most out of your troops. Do you accept the challenge? Whether alone or with its multiplayer mode, you will find here a game frankly recommended.

Dark Souls: Remastered

Platforms: PS4, XOne By: From Software

Rating (8.0) Dark Souls Remastered is a version that updates one of the most important games of recent years. Its improvements in terms of resolution, frame rate, multiplayer and some playable details are especially appreciated for the console game, but not exempt from other failures by the too automatic implementation.

Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne By Digital Sun

Rating (8.5) Moonlighter is one of the best news for the indie scene, and the role gender of this year.

An RPG of action with tints of the roguelike that contains ingredients of several video games, but that knows how to conjugate them to give us something with its own essence. It is difficult but rewarding, complex but at the same time easy to understand …

It is action and role of the old school with a sensation of brilliant progression and enormous addiction capacity that we are sure will satisfy the most adventurous players.

Yoku's Island Express

Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne, Switch By Digital Sun

Rating (8.0) Villa Gorilla has signed a remarkable work developing a 2D development adventure where exploration and platforms combine sensationally with multiple elements linked to the world of pinball.

A very original gameplay that, fortunately, has also been well captured. An entertaining and very showy title in general terms.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon

Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne, Switch, Vita By Inti-Creates

Rating (8.5) Igarashi and Inti Create borrow the concept of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse and mix it with Castlevania's Julius mode: Dawn of Sorrow with a dash of Rondo of Blood and 8-bit graphics.

Excellent platform video game with four protagonists, impressive final bosses and good taste when it comes to honoring one of the most beloved franchises of players around the world. An excellent advance for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night of unbeatable price-quality.

Four-run 8th breaks tie, helps Yankees sweep visiting Rangers

Gleyber Torres hit a tiebreaking double with two outs in the eighth inning, Gary Sanchez hit a long two-run homer later in the inning and the New York Yankees moved back into the American League’s second wild-card spot with a 7-3 victory over the visiting Texas Rangers Wednesday night.

The Yankees (86-67) won their third straight after losing 15 of 22 and moved a half-game ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays for the second wild card.

Their lead may be short-lived as Toronto visits Minnesota to open a four-game series Thursday before the Yankees start a three-game series Friday at Fenway Park against the wild card-leading Boston Red Sox.

Gallo started the rally with a bloop double off Spencer Patton (1-2) into no-man’s land in left field as the Rangers were shifted over against their former slugger.

On the next pitch, Torres ripped a double down the right field line that went to the fence to easily score Gallo.

One pitch later, Torres gave the Yankees a 5-3 lead when he slid head-first into the plate as second baseman Yonny Hernandez booted an infield single by Gio Urshela.

Hernandez was also charged with an error as Torres got his left hand slightly ahead of the tag and the original call by plate umpire Jeremie Rehak was upheld following a replay review.

Three pitches later, Sanchez reached Monument Park beyond the center field fence for his 23rd homer to make it 7-3.

Before New York’s comeback, Kyle Higashioka hit a two-run double in the fifth and link rajawaliqq Aaron Judge scored the tying run in the sixth on a wild pitch by Dennis Santana.

Willie Calhoun, Brock Holt and, Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit RBI singles off New York’s Corey Kluber but Texas (55-97) lost for the eighth time in 10 games.

Kluber, who no-hit the Rangers May 19 in Texas, allowed three runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.

He struck out four and walked none before the Yankees used four relievers.

After Wandy Peralta and Clay Holmes followed Kluber, Chad Green (9-7) pitched a scoreless eighth that was aided by Sanchez throwing out Adolis Garcia trying to steal second. Aroldis Chapman finished up in a non-save situation.

Texas left-hander Taylor Hearn allowed three runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings.

He struck out three and walked four.

Olympics-USOPC will require COVID-19 vaccine for all US athletes at…

Sept 22 (Reuters) – The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee on Wednesday said all U.S.

athletes hoping to compete at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Effective Nov. 1, 2021, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee will require all USOPC staff, athletes and those utilizing USOPC facilities – including the training centers – to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19,” USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland wrote in a letter reviewed by Reuters.

“This requirement will also apply to our full Team USA delegation at future Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Athletes and staff would have to opportunity to obtain a medical or religious exemption to the mandate, the USOPC said.

None of the major North American sports leagues require their athletes to be vaccinated.

The International Olympic Committee did not require athletes who competed at the Tokyo Games to be vaccinated although it was encouraged.

Hirshland download aplikasi rajawaliqq said the USOPC had hoped COVID-19 restrictions would be lifted by the end of the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Games but in reality the pandemic is “far from over”.

“This step will increase our ability to create a safe and productive environment for Team USA athletes and staff, and allow us to restore consistency in planning, preparation and service to athletes,” she said.

The move has the support of the Athletes’ Advisory Council and National Governing Bodies Council, she said, which was further reinforced by the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of the Pfizer vaccine and the recent mandates by the U.S.

federal government.

Revs beat Fire with late goal, clinch MLS playoff spot

Carles Gil scored in the first minute of second-half stoppage time to give the New England Revolution a hard-fought 3-2 road win over the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night, clinching an MLS playoff spot in the process.

Gil’s third goal of the season, assisted by Tajon Buchanan went past Fire goaltender Gabriel Slonina and also gave the Revolution a franchise-record 18th win of the year.

First-place New England (18-4-5, 59 points) snapped Chicago’s home success.

The Fire (6-15-5, 23 points) came into Wednesday’s match unbeaten in its past three home matches, having acquired all but four of their points this season at Soldier Field.

Overall, Chicago has now lost six of its past seven games.

The Revolution struck first when Henry Kessler sneaked a shot past Slonina in the 11th minute.

The goal, assisted by Jonathan Bell, was the first of the season for Kessler.

Chicago was finally able to get its offense going near the end of the first half, applying pressure on New England goaltender Matt Turner. The Fire — who had gone three straight matches without a goal — finally snapped the skid when defender Carlos Teran found the net for the first time in his MLS career in the 40th minute to tie the game 1-1.

Teran almost scored a second goal moments later but was denied by Turner, download rajawaliqq who finished the night with seven saves.

Chinonso Offor had an opportunity to put the Fire ahead in the 59th minute, but his header sailed over the net.

The Revolution would not miss on their next opportunity when Teal Bunbury scored with an assist from Gustavo Bou in the 62nd minute for a 2-1 lead.

The advantage lasted less than a minute as Gaston Gimenez, who assisted on Teran’s goal, took a pass from Offor to tie the score at 2-2 on his second goal of the season.

Turner made a pair of saves in the 77th minute to deny Chicago. He was also assisted by Kessler, who stopped a shot when Turner was away from his line.

Hodge looks for consistent Wallabies role

It’s been a long wait for Wallabies back Reece Hodge, who has earned his first start since last year’s Rugby Championship when Australia face Argentina on Saturday.

Used mainly as a utility for the Wallabies playing five-eighth, centre, wing and fullback since his debut in 2016 – Hodge came on to replace Tom Banks in Saturday’s win over South Africa when his good friend suffered an arm fracture.

Hodge has since been named in the No.15 jumper for this weekend’s game against Los Pumas and download rajawaliqq apk hopes to cement his role as first-choice with six Tests remaining in 2021 – although he says he will take things one game at a time.

“It’s awesome to be able to get another starting berth after they’ve kind of been few and far between in the last couple of years,” Hodge said on Thursday.

“More so just this weekend I’m just taking it one game at a time.

“(It’s) a massive opportunity for myself and the squad this week to put together three back to back wins that, we haven’t done in quite a while.”

Hodge was a stellar replacement in the back-field in the 30-17 win over the Springboks, making smart defensive decisions and key cover tackles.

The only blight on his performance was under pressure of the high-ball through box-kicks from Springbok scrum-half Faf De Klerk, with that area a key focus in this week’s game preparation.

“It’s a constant work on for our back three.

Obviously, I’m very disappointed with my start last week and probably a bit unlike me,” Hodge said.

“In probably over 100 professional games I’ve never kind of had those kind of issues on the high ball before.

“So I’m going to take confidence out of that and then also the work I’ve done this week with the rest of the back three especially under the high ball… “

Hodge’s first start for the year at fullback is the only change to the Wallabies’ back three, with last week’s two-try hero Marika Koroibete on the left wing and Melbourne Rebels flyer Andrew Kellaway on the right.

While Hodge believes he can successfully use his big boot as a territorial weapon on the international stage he said he won’t stray from the overall team game plan.

“It’s something you definitely look for as a space in the back-field, especially if you’ve caught it in your own half,” he said on the 50-22 kick rule.

“But in saying that, we want to play an attacking style of rugby as well so I guess it’s about having balance in terms your decision making from the back.”

Reports: Lions might trade LB Jamie Collins

Detroit linebacker Jamie Collins was held out of a walk-through for non-injury reasons Wednesday, according to the team, and multiple media outlets reported that the Lions are looking into trading the 31-year-old veteran.

Collins, who is in his second season with Detroit, link alternatif rajawaliqq recorded 10 total tackles and a fumble recovery in the Lions’ first two games.

However, after the team’s 35-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Detroit coach Dan Campbell noted the emergence of rookie linebacker Derrick Barnes, saying, “Jamie had some mistakes. It wasn’t certainly his best performance, and, yeah, I think Barnes deserves a shot. …

Campbell added that Collins remains a valuable contributor on third down.

“Look, Jamie is a big linebacker.

He’s a very athletic linebacker,” the coach said. “The way he moves is a little bit different. Now, does he move with the same effort or have the same effort as Alex (Anzalone)? No, I don’t (think so). I think Alex just plays at a high level all of the time. That’s him.

That’s how it goes.

“Jamie — there are things that Jamie does well that we still have to continue to use. He’s still a mismatch on third down, particularly in the rush game, and we’ll see where this goes.”

If they trade Collins, the Lions (0-2) would add $3.53 million in dead salary-cap space for 2021, according to Spotrac, plus $6.67 million in dead cap space for 2022.

A deal would give Detroit $3.8 million in bonus cap room and also eliminate Collins’ $9.8 million salary for 2022.

Collins, a second-round draft pick of the Patriots in 2013, played with New England from 2013-16 and in 2019. He made the Pro Bowl in 2015 and was part of two Super Bowl championship teams with the Patriots.

Collins also played for the Cleveland Browns from 2016-18.

He signed a three-year, $30 million contract with Detroit in March 2020, and he recorded one sack, one interception, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 101 tackles in 14 games (all starts) for the Lions last year.

In 112 career NFL games (102 starts), Collins has 25.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, 19 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and 686 tackles.

Max Scherzer puts perfect L.A. record on line vs. Rockies

While deadline trades can flop or flourish, it’s safe to say the Los Angeles Dodgers’ July 30 deal with the Washington Nationals has worked out brilliantly for the reigning World Series champions.

Los Angeles got pitcher Max Scherzer and second baseman Trea Turner from the Nationals in exchange for four young players.

Turner has hit .307 with four home runs and download aplikasi rajawaliqq 28 runs scored in 42 games with the Dodgers while Scherzer is 7-0 with a 0.78 ERA in nine starts with his new team.

Scherzer will go for his 12th consecutive winning decision overall when Los Angeles plays the rubber game of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday in Denver.

The Rockies will counter with lefty Kyle Freeland (6-8, 4.50 ERA).

Colorado bounced back from losing 5-4 in 10 innings Monday to win 10-5 Tuesday.

The Dodgers (97-55), who have won nine of their past 11 contests, trail the first-place San Francisco Giants (99-53) by two games in the National League West entering the series finale.

The Rockies (71-80) have won eight of their past 11.

Scherzer has accomplished plenty in a career that began with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2008. He has won three Cy Young Awards and pitched in two World Series, winning it all with Washington in 2019.

Scherzer (15-4, 2.08 ERA overall) has strengthened an already impressive Los Angeles rotation with his arrival.

He has impressed Rockies manager Bud Black, who has seen the righty since his early days with the Diamondbacks.

“Over time he’s refined his skills, he’s polished his game, he’s truly worked on his strengths,” Black said. “He’s improved his weaknesses. He’s a complete pitcher. He can get you out with multiple pitches that he has confidence in. The changeup is probably the pitch that’s come the farthest, and now it’s a true weapon for him along with his fastball.”

As well as he has pitched in his career, Scherzer has not fared as well against Colorado.

In 10 career starts vs. the Rockies, he has gone 2-4 with a 4.55 ERA, including an 0-3 mark with a 5.88 ERA in five starts at Coors Field. He has not pitched against them since July 25, 2019, when he allowed three runs over five innings for the Nationals.

Freeland has been up and down this season, but he is coming off a strong start.

He pitched six scoreless innings in a 6-0 win at Washington on Saturday. The fifth-year Rockies pitcher has started to figure things out, especially when it comes to pitching in Denver and then at sea level.

“I think a lot of that comes with experience, being in the league for some time and learning a lot and truly learning about your arsenal,” Freeland said after the win over the Nationals.

“The two-seamer, at sea level, is something that I can lean pretty hard on, just because I know it’s going to be catching that thick air and have quality movement to it.”

Freeland is 3-7 with a 4.06 ERA in 15 career starts against Los Angeles. In three starts against the Dodgers this season, he is 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA, having tossed at least six innings in all three outings.
